Cecil Vaden, MEd., CCTP II

Counseling Intern

Cecil is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional and is completing his Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at William & Mary, specializing in Military and Veterans Counseling. He brings a calm, steady presence to the therapy room, creating a space where clients can be met where they are, without judgment. He works with military personnel, veterans, first responders, men, adolescents, and children ages five and up. Cecil draws from CBT, DBT, IFS, and Adventure Therapy, tailoring his approach to each client’s individual needs.
 
Cecil served 17 years in the U.S. Army as an Infantryman with the 82nd Airborne Division and as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician supporting special operations, completing multiple deployments to Afghanistan. He now serves as a Federal Police Officer in Washington, D.C., bringing a grounded perspective and firsthand understanding of the stress and trauma many of his clients face.
