Counseling Intern

Maybe you are carrying something that happened years ago, grieving a loss, or facing a change not of your choosing. Maybe anxiety or depression has made ordinary days feel heavy, or life simply feels harder than it should. You do not need to be in crisis to ask for help, and you do not need to have the right words. I work with adults and teens facing trauma, grief, life transitions, anxiety, depression, and the everyday struggles that wear us down.
I am a retired Army Special Operations combat veteran and a firefighter-paramedic with more than 33 years in high-stress, crisis settings, where I've also provided mentorship and peer support to fellow veterans and first responders. I also know what it's like to sit on the other side. For years I held down what I carried from combat and working as a first responder, until it boiled over and I finally asked for help. Reaching out, therapy changed my life.  Recognizing the importance of processing trauma and managing emotional regulation is why I am transitioning to this work. I'm currently working towards my master’s in counseling and see clients under supervision as a counseling intern at Mauli’Ola Therapy Services
My approach is trauma-informed, practical and conducted in an accepting and compassionate space.  We'll move at your pace, without judgment, toward the goals that matter to you.
