Jennifer Nocito, MS, Licensed School Counselor
Resident in Counseling
Jennifer has her MS in School Counseling & Childhood Development and has been a
Licensed School Counselor since 2014. She has worked in education with students K-
12 throughout the past 10 years, with her primary focus on children ages 10-14.
Jennifer has expanded her client base as a Resident in Counseling for the past two
years to include teenagers and adults.
As a professionally trained mental health counselor, Jennifer is a trauma-informed
practitioner who employs a range of evidence-based therapeutic techniques to support
her clients, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems
(IFS), Person-Centered Therapy (PCT), and Art therapy. She uses Mindfulness-based
practices and Somatic interventions. Jennifer is currently enrolled in trauma practitioner
training to become a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) and will work to
become an EMDR trained clinician this summer. Jennifer has experience with grief,
changing families, anxiety and stress management, life transitions, emotional
dysregulation, and effective communication skills.
Jennifer believes the therapeutic relationship is the foundation for healing & change, and works to provide support for her clients in empowering their own successful
movement forward. She facilitates authentic connection to promote that personal growth for each client at their own pace.
Jennifer has a lifelong affinity for horses and will also be pursuing her Equine Specialist
in Mental Health Certification this year. Jennifer, her husband, and her twin 18-year-old
daughters live in Western Prince William County. She enjoys spending time with her
family, doing yoga, hiking, gardening, and playing with their three dogs, chinchilla,
bearded dragon, and horse.
